Sprinters, for you again.Plz read..
I juz watched this movie on Tv. 'Blue Chips' shaquilee O'neal starred in it. The movie muz be old..o'neal looked..thin.
its about this highschool basketball team. Dolphines. They had been unbeatable for the past decade or something..but now this team is not good enough anymore. They had their first losing season, and the media is calling for the sacking of the coach.. Other schools who had bought their athletes with illegal payments are catching up. So does the coach follow suit and buy athletes or does he stay true to his values? Eventually, being so down-to-earth and innocent, he chose his values. He said his best season was the losing season. For although they lost, his sons(referin to his team, no reference to his productivity) played their hearts out. They did all they can do, but it was just not good enough for anyone. But he loved that team anyway.
That is what I wish for in our sprint team, u get me? Yah, you may not be the best sprinters. Yah, so what if we can never be counted on to win the Track n Field Titles..I still want us to train diligently and stay commited to the team. If you are running below expectations, that is bad. But you don't pack up and say yah, i've had enough of this, im not going to get first, then i QUIT. As much as sprints is a individual event, we still compete as a team. You cant win with just one sprinter? SJI got yusof, they nv won anything. It is the many good athletes that we have that make the difference. They are the many athletes that know they won't get trophies but still train their hearts out, even just to contribute one point for our school.
No one will fault you if you had trained your heart out and really have done your best. How many throwers are there? and only 3 or 4 of them compete in one of the few events. How many throwers have quit? I don't lyk this bullshit about quitting sprints..when you think about throwers' commitment, it is embarrassing.
Track training is not just about results. It is also about learning to accomodate each other. it's about being ready to push yourself over your physical limits even in training. Most importantly, its about commiting to the team, to track, to sprinting. Even when you are not the fastest, the amount of effort you put in must be among the most. And you persever, you do not give up, so only in the end, you will look back proudly and say 'i have done my best, and i have no regrets.'
